Everything about the Torrington Place cycle lane is dangerous. Why? Because both directions of cycling traffic are on the same side of the road. Whoever thought this was a good idea should have their head examined. Getting ON and OFF the lane is dangerous because you're forced to cross traffic at odd angles. Neither cyclists, cars or pedestrians can work out what's happening. This is a cycle lane that only works when you ON it, with no thought given to the real world. It's not even particularly safe to be on, actually, as it feels dangerously narrow - I am not a timid cyclist but even I am intimidated by the sight of a line of cyclists coming the opposite direction. Put a lane on the south side of the road, I beg you!
