The Kings Cross / St Pancras area could be a showcase for starting to cycle in London, given the numbers of rail passengers - commuters, national and international - who use the termini, not to mention the fact it is on a key cycle routes around London. As it is, there are no safe spaces for cyclists, difficult to see where you need to go and get there safely while remaining on a bike. I avoid at all costs and would never suggest to a visitor that they start trying to cycle in London here! Solutions might include vehicle-free physically separate lanes, separate signalling for bikes, well signposted, easily accessed, well signposted alternative routes on back streets (with vehicle free lanes) and to the canal.
