[Image taken 17.7.22] Deangate, York. What looks like a broken rack is a folded up FollowMe (www.followmetandem.co.uk/) tandem 'hitch'. (And in use: #166269.) They look very practical - perhaps the next stage from a balance bike (a cycle with no pedals)? A child rides his/her own cycle and pedals independently until they get tired, wet or cold, or the adult thinks the route is not safe enough. At which point the front wheel of the child's cycle is slipped into the hitch and the now rather longer rig is a four-wheeled machine. This also looks like a good way to start teaching roadcraft and roadsense, safely. Other image today and links: #184962.
